Matrimony privacy policy
Last updated 8 October 2026
A matrimony profile is personal by nature. This page says what the Matrimony app keeps about you, who can see it, how long it is kept, and how to take it back. It covers the Matrimony Android app and the profile links it makes. There is no website version of the app.

Who we are
Matrimony is made and run by Tixfar. Write to support@tixfar.com about anything on this page; write from the address on your account if it is about your account.
What we keep
| What | Details |
|---|---|
| Your account | Email address, your password (stored only in a form we cannot read back), the app language and time zone. A phone number, if you add one. |
| Your profile | What you fill in: name, gender, date of birth, where you live and where you are from, marital status, height, education, work, income, family, lifestyle, hobbies, and your About text. Religion, community and caste only if you give them; many questions offer “Prefer not to say”. |
| Horoscope | Date, time and place of birth, if you add them, and the chart worked out from them. |
| Photos | Profile, gallery and family photos, each with the audience you chose. Every photo is checked by a person before anyone else sees it. |
| Verification | What you choose to send to earn badges: a phone number, a live selfie, a photo of an identity document, and a short video in which you say a code. A person on our team compares them; nobody calls you. |
| Partner preferences and activity | What you are looking for, saved searches, the profiles you view, shortlist, pass on or send interests to, and your matches. |
| Messages and calls | Messages, photos and voice notes you send to your matches. For voice and video calls we keep when they happened, how long they lasted and how they ended; calls are never recorded. |
| Your journey | Meetings you plan, safety check-ins and the trusted contact you pick, contact details you decide to share with a match, milestones such as engagement, and a success story if you both agree to publish one. |
| Family helpers | Relatives you invite to help with your profile, and what you allow each of them to do. If a relative created your profile, that is recorded too. |
| Devices and sign-ins | Your phone’s model and system, the app version, an ID the app creates when installed, when it was last used, the network address it connected from, and a token for notifications. |
| Safety records | Reports you make or that are made about you, the messages kept as evidence with a report, warnings, suspensions and appeals. |
We do not read your phone’s contacts, and the app does not track your location: where you live is what you type into your profile. The camera and microphone are used only when you take a photo, record a verification or a voice note, or make a call.
How we use it
- To run the service: sign you in, show your profile to the members your settings allow, suggest matches, and deliver messages and calls.
- To check profiles: people on our team review new profiles, every photo and each verification you send.
- To keep members safe: an automatic check looks for signs of scams in messages (requests for money, moving the chat elsewhere, links). It flags; it never decides. When it flags a conversation, the other person sees a neutral warning and a person on our team looks at it. To catch the same person running several accounts, we compare phone numbers, email addresses, app installs, photos and the address an account signed up from.
- To contact you: sign-in codes and account email, and notifications about interests, matches and messages, which you can turn off in the app.
- To understand how the app is doing: counts such as how many people signed up or matched in a week. These are numbers, never lists of people.
We do not sell your data, show advertising, or give your profile to advertisers or data brokers.
Who can see it
Other members see your profile only as your privacy settings allow. You choose who can see your profile, your photos, your horoscope and each answer, and you can pause or hide your profile at any time. Your email, phone number and verification files are never shown on your profile; contact details reach a match only if you share them.
Family helpers see and do only what you allowed.
Our team sees what it needs to review profiles, photos and verifications and to handle reports and scam warnings. Messages are seen only as part of a report or a scam warning about that conversation. Every staff action, and every time staff open a verification file, is recorded.
Profile links: if you turn on a link or QR code for your profile, anyone holding it can open your profile card in the app. You can switch the link off or replace it.
Success stories are published in the app only when both of you agree, with first names only.
We may share information when the law requires it, or when it is needed to protect someone from serious harm.
Services that handle some of it
- CatzConnect sends our email, so it sees the address and the message (sign-in codes and account mail).
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) delivers notifications to your phone. A notification carries no names or message text, only a signal that something happened.
- Google Play installs and updates the app.
Everything else — profiles, photos, messages, calls and verification — is on servers we run ourselves. Calls go directly between phones or through our own relay.
How it is protected
Everything travels encrypted between the app and our servers. Verification files, chat photos and voice notes are also encrypted where they are stored. Chat is not end-to-end encrypted: our servers can read messages, because the scam check and reports need that. Access by our team is limited by role and recorded.
How long we keep it
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Your account and profile | Until you delete them |
| Identity documents and verification videos | 90 days after our team decides, then deleted. Longer only while an open report needs them as evidence. |
| A deleted account | Hidden at once; erased 30 days later. Within those 30 days you can sign in and keep it. |
| Safety records | Reports, the evidence kept with them, warnings, suspensions and our team’s notes stay after an account is erased, so that a person removed for harming others cannot return with a clean record. Files held as evidence are deleted within 180 days. |
| Our activity log | Who did what and when, without message or profile content, kept so our team is accountable. |
When an account is erased, the profile, photos, verification files, answers, preferences, devices and the messages you sent are removed. Your matches keep their side of a conversation; your messages there show as deleted.
Your choices and rights
- See and change your profile, privacy settings and notifications in the app at any time.
- Pause your profile, block someone, or report them.
- Download a copy of your data: Me › Download my data.
- Delete your account: Me › Delete my account, or see deleting your account.
- Ask what we hold, ask us to correct it, or object to how we use it, by writing to support@tixfar.com. We answer within 30 days.
If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Age
Matrimony is for adults looking to marry: you must be at least 18 and old enough to marry where you live. We remove profiles of anyone younger.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will change the date at the top and tell you in the app before the change applies.
