These terms are between you and Tixfar, which runs Matrimony. Using the app means accepting them and the Matrimony privacy policy.
Who can join
- You must be at least 18, old enough to marry where you live, and legally free to marry.
- You must be looking for marriage, for yourself or for a family member.
- One person, one account. A relative may create a profile for you only with your knowledge, and you can claim it and run it yourself.
Your account
Matrimony is free: no subscriptions, paid features or locked profiles. Keep your password and the email address on your account to yourself; anyone who can read your mail can sign in. Tell us at once if you think somebody else has got in. You are responsible for what family helpers you invite do with the permissions you give them.
Our checks
People on our team review every new profile and every photo, and the phone number, selfie, identity document and video you send for verification. We may approve them, ask you to change something, or refuse them, and we tell you why. A badge means a check passed; it does not guarantee everything a member says about themselves.
How to behave
- Be truthful: your profile, photos and verification must be real and your own.
- Don’t ask anyone for money, gifts or investments, for any reason.
- No harassment, threats, hate, or sexual or explicit content.
- Don’t put phone numbers, email addresses or social media handles in your profile texts; share contact details with a match through the app when you choose to.
- Don’t use Matrimony to sell, advertise, recruit, or collect other members’ details.
- Don’t pretend to be someone else, or run more than one account.
- Don’t try to get around a block, a restriction or a suspension.
What you post
Your profile, photos, messages and story stay yours. You let us store them and show them where the app is meant to show them, as your privacy settings allow, and nothing beyond that. Only post photos you are in or have the right to use. Messages are checked automatically for signs of scams, and our team may read them when a conversation is reported or flagged.
Meeting people
Take the usual care before you share details or meet: meet in a public place, tell someone you trust, and use the app’s safety check-in if you like. Never send money to someone you met on Matrimony. Report anything that worries you; a person reads every report. We are not a marriage bureau or agency and we are not part of what happens between members.
When we act
If a profile or a member breaks these terms, we may ask for changes, warn, restrict messaging for a time, suspend or close the account. You will see why. You can appeal a suspension once, and a different person on our team decides the appeal. We may also act to protect someone from harm, or when the law requires it.
Ending
You can delete your account at any time in the app (Me › Delete my account) or by writing to us; see deleting your account. It is hidden at once and erased after 30 days, during which you can sign in to keep it. These terms end when your account is erased, except the parts that by their nature continue, such as safety records kept after deletion.
What we don’t promise
Matrimony is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate, safe and available, but we cannot guarantee it is always available, error-free, or that you will find a match. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of the app or from how other members behave. Nothing here limits rights you have under the consumer law of your country that cannot be limited.
Changes and contact
When these terms change in a way that matters, we change the date at the top and tell you in the app before the change applies. Carrying on using the app after that means accepting the new version.
